How do I use amla, reetha and shikakai powder together?
Stir the dry powders together in a bowl, add water gradually until you have a smooth paste, apply it to wet hair and scalp, work it through, then rinse until the water runs clear. Mix only enough for one wash and keep it away from your eyes.
What proportion of amla, reetha and shikakai should I use?
A common starting point is two parts shikakai, one part reetha and one part amla. Use more reetha for more lather, or more amla if you prefer. Because the powders come in separate packs, you can adjust the mix from one wash to the next.
Which of the three powders makes foam?
Reetha. Its natural saponins produce a light lather. Shikakai and amla do not foam the way shampoo does, which is normal.
